Machinery's focus is on metalcutting/metalforming manufacturing technology, particularly machine tool technology, its development and its application within manufacturing companies.
Developments in and application of supporting technology is also within its scope, taking in cutting tools, workholding, machine tool accessories, CADCAM and DNC, degreasing and cleaning systems, and production management systems, for example.
The magazine also discusses business drivers and issues that prompt the adoption of particular manufacturing technology or methods of operation.
The magazine's circulation takes in the very largest of manufacturing companies down to small sub-contracting operations. Depending on company size, the title circulates to managing directors, production directors, production managers, production engineering managers or production engineers. All are involved with the selection, justification or purchase of manufacturing technology and the profitable application of that technology.
Machinery's aim is to arm its readers with information critical to success in their metalcutting/metalforming manufacturing operations. Skills development is also a critical element of that success and Machinery is proud to be a sponsor of Engineering Apprentice.

The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) represents manufacturers and importers of machine tools and associated equipment, such as cutting tools, CADCAM and workholding. With over 250 members, it also has a growing User Partner section comprised of users of manufacturing technology. The Association promotes manufacturing, and in particular the engineering manufacturing sector to government and the wider public.
The MTA has signed the government’s Skills Pledge, supports member training through grants and loans; runs the Weatherly Award which supports the education of people involved in the machine tool industry or undergoing full-time educational or technical training in subjects relating to that industry; operates the Technology Design and Innovation (TDI) Competition which rewards individual project-based work that has taken place in schools’ D&T departments; and supports the annual Imagineering Fair.

EAL (EMTA Awards Limited) is a leading UK awarding organisation for Engineering Vocational Qualifications. With more than 40 years experience, EAL’s qualifications are recognised as representing the highest standard of practical achievement and are delivered by over 700 educational centres including colleges, training providers and employers.
Certificating more than 100,000 learners in 2009, EAL uses its team of in-house sector experts to develop up-to-date, high quality products, ensuring that guidance, advice and support are available at every step of the way. EAL can also work directly with employers to help achieve national accreditation for in-house training programmes, or develop niche qualifications for their employees and customers.
EAL is pleased to sponsor Engineering Apprentice, a publication that ensures engineering apprentices and the companies they work for, maximise the true benefits of apprenticeship programmes.

The Schaeffler Group is committed to investing in the future of engineering and in persuading more youngsters to develop their careers in this profession.
The company is delighted to see the launch of Engineering Apprentice, a unique vehicle for promoting the benefits of engineering apprenticeship schemes, which we hope will go from strength to strength over the coming years.
The Schaeffler Group has a strong tradition of providing engineering apprenticeship schemes for its employees – in the UK and in Germany. The Schaeffler Group now employs around 1,300 apprentices, across commercial and technical disciplines, and also provides numerous opportunities for pre- and postgraduate students in practical training and scientific work.

WNT is a great advocate of apprentice training and is rightly proud of the role that its own, apprentice-trained, technical sales engineers have played in the success of the company here in the UK.
WNT truly values the knowledge that these individuals possess and the skills and applications-based experience that they can bring to bear on the shopfloor of its customers.
In using these skills, and developing them, WNT is playing an important part in improving UK productivity through combining technical knowledge with the latest in cutting tool technology. This enthusiasm for developing skill stems from its membership of the Ceratizit Group, which invests heavily in training and apprenticeships in its own manufacturing facilities around the world and, as such, WNT is proud to sponsor Engineering Apprentice.
